Alex Abramovitz & Swinging Jazz Quartet | Every 4th Saturday

Alex Abramovitz is a Kansas City Jazz musician, laser-focused on the swing style that originated in Kansas City's “Golden Age” of jazz, celebrating the traditional swing band sound. Even Alex's horn exudes tradition; it's a 1930's pre-war old-style Conn trumpet. His bands take inspiration from the era and the phenomenal musicians who developed it, such as Count Basie, Jay McShann, Coleman Hawkins, and many others. 

Alex leads several bands, including his Award-Winning swing and dance band, Alex Abramovitz and His Swing’n Kansas City Jazz Band, The Blue River Riders Western Swing Band, and The Original Monarchs Jazz Band, the latter which can be heard at nearly every Monarchs weekend home game. 

For nine years, Alex Abramovitz and His Swing’n Kansas City Jazz Band called The Phoenix “home” every Saturday for the Award-Winning Saturday Jazz Brunch, honing their craft and developing the band’s unique style and sound each weekend. 

Alex and his bandmates are happy to be back home at The Phoenix, and we are happy to welcome them back.
